The Weight We Carry and the Beauty We Return To

This week, the world feels heavy. Maybe you feel it too - that quiet ache that sits in the body, that constant hum of uncertainty. And in moments like these, sharing my own story of vulnerability feels both terrifying and necessary.

Because here’s the truth: I wrestle with self-doubt every single day.

Living in the Vulnerable Spaces

As a woman, a mother, a daughter, and a business owner, the expectations feel endless. I question how I show up in the world: Am I too much? Not enough? Do people see me? Or dismiss me? Even the simplest things - posting my face on social media, deciding what to wear… can feel weighted by self-criticism and anxiety.

And beneath that, there’s something deeper: the fear of being judged.

We live in a world of constant comparison, surrounded by curated images of success and beauty. And yet, in this very environment, expressing ourselves openly can feel like scarcity - like there’s not enough room for our raw, imperfect humanity. Vulnerability is hard. Because when we show it, we risk being misunderstood.

But I’ve learned that it’s also the only way we truly connect.

Why Finesse Exists

Finesse was born from this exact place: a longing for a judgment-free space where we can lay our burdens down and just be. Not only for facials, brows, or lashes, but for conversation, laughter, and connection that goes beneath the surface.

Every client who sits in my chair reminds me why I do this work. Sometimes it’s lighthearted - sharing about families, jobs, or travels. Other times, it’s deeper; stories of struggle, joy, or loss. Both matter. Both fill my cup. And both remind me that beauty isn’t about being flawless, it’s about being human together.

Why Botnia Is My Anchor

This is also why I chose Botnia. It’s more than a clean skincare line - it’s farm-to-face, woman-owned, and deeply rooted in the earth. Every formula is created with intention, their ingredients locally sourced, their packaging recyclable and compostable. Nothing is rushed, nothing is harsh. It is skincare that honors the pace of nature and the ethos of slow beauty.

In my most vulnerable moments, Botnia grounds me. The aroma of plants and earth brings me back to myself. Closing the day with the Wisdom Oil  isn’t just a skincare step… it’s a ritual that feels like tending to both my skin and my soul. A way of saying: I am here. I am enough. I am cared for.

And these are the reasons I carry the products I carry. Because I want every client who uses them to experience that same moment of peace - that reminder that your self-expression and your self-care matter, even in a world that often makes you doubt it.

Vulnerability as Connection

It’s easy to keep things surface-level, and sometimes that’s all we have energy for. But when trust builds, when the walls come down, that’s when the real magic happens. Vulnerability is not a burden - it’s a bridge.

With my clients, those bridges take many forms: laughter over something silly, learning something new, swapping stories of family or travel, or sitting in silence while the treatment works its magic. Those moments, both big and small, feed me in a way I can’t put into words. They remind me that what we all crave most is connection.

An Invitation

So yes, the world feels heavy. And yes, vulnerability feels scary. But maybe that’s the exact reason we need to lean into it.

I invite you to notice where self-doubt creeps in for you. To name it gently. To soften it with rituals that ground you.. a cup of tea, a walk along the Deschutes River Trail, the view from Pilot Butte, lighting Palo Santo, massaging a serum into your skin with intention.

And if you need a space to be held, to laugh, to connect, or simply to feel seen - know that Finesse is here for you.

Closing Mantra

May we name the weight we carry without shame.
May we soften the edges of self-doubt with ritual and care.
May we risk vulnerability so that we might find connection.
And may we remember: beauty is not perfection - it is presence, humanity, and the courage to be seen.
